Experiential Prayer

One of the areas I am growing in is developing experiential prayer spaces. In these places, people are actively writing prayers, making art…physical activites leading to spiritual renewal and focus. One recent ”sacred space” I developed was based on love. I have documented it on my other home: http://www.xanga.com/stinkowoman Please check it out and let me know what you think! I’d love to help you develop one of your own!!

We have recenlty done a couple of prayer experiences at the place where I work, The Salt Cellar (www.saltcellar.org.uk) in Oldham UK.
One called ‘Time to be Still’ and the other a more general one for three days during the Week of Prayer for Greater Manchester, with creative activities, DVD, music etc. We used maps of the area and identified places to pray for. We advertised and opened it to the public but had limted response. People seemed a little reluctant, but we were encourgaed by those who did come and are planning more.

Its a great idea and it can help to break the barriers that people have to traditional prayer.

Okay, I give up. I can’t find you. You can come out now. Come out, come out, wherever you are.

*Sniff*. I miss her.
